How to: Selecting a news search form

You can allow web site visitors to search current or archived news by adding a search form to any web page on your site.

There are several example forms available by clicking 'News Settings', then 'Search Forms', then choose 'Get current news HTML search form'. A form should appear with two example search forms, with each form's HTML code to the right.

Select all of the search code in the desired textbox, and paste it into your web page. Next change the path in the form from 'anm3.8.pl' to the full URL path to 'anm3.8.pl', i.e. an address similar to: 'http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/anm3.8.pl'.

(The path is specified by  <form action='anm3.8.pl'>).

Changing the style of the Search Results Page.

You can modify the way Search Results appear by editing the file 'template.html', which is stored in the 'anm3.8data' directory. There is only one marker which is needed on this template. The marker '[[anm]]' is the place holder where search results will be added.
